2008 Commercial Cattleman of the Year
The Amblers have been proud supporters of the Maine breed for over 35 years.
Lakeland Maines is a family run beef cattle operation at Mallaig, Alberta. They run about 300 cows and the cowherd has been largely influenced by Maine Anjou through both A.I. and natural service sires.
Bill and his son, Randy, have purchased bulls through various sales and privately from Maine breeders for years. As well Bill has rarely missed a year going to Agribition to see the Maine show and is often a familiar face at any of the breeds shows and sales across the province.
Maine Anjou will be celebrating 40 years in Canada next year so it is fitting that someone like the Bill Ambler Family - Lakeland Maines who have supported the breed for 35 years win the 2008 Commercial Cattleman Of The Year Award.
