Farm/Breeder Information:
Dennis and Loree, along with their two daughters Ashley and Alana have been raising purebred Maine-Anjou cattle since 1992.
Our herd consists of primarily 50 black purebred Maines, with a few solid red females. Over the years
our program continues to grow and strengthen. We take pride in producing quality functional cattle that meet the
demands of today’s cattle ranchers. Here at Shannon Maines we have a strict culling program based on
specific and demanding goals such as fertility, feet and legs, udder quality, disposition, body condition at weaning,
offspring performance, and yes even color. Our purebred cows are raised under the same conditions as a commercial
operation, ensuring performance and functionality. Since 2005, we have been offering performance tested bulls
and select registered females through the Northern Classic Maine Anjou Bull Sale held annually in April. Our
bulls have entered both purebred and commercial herds, adding performance, efficiency and profitability for their new owners.
